Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation

Closed cell spray foam insulation is applied as a two-component polyurethane spray foam. closed cell foam offers specific benefits depending on the climate and the type of building in which it is used. closed cell foam is often used for interior walls, unvented attic, crawl spaces and basement applications. However, it is often used where there is need for the greatest R-value insulation per inch possible. Closed cell foam acts as an air, vapor, and water barrier. Closed cell foam can also provide a high tensile and bond strength.

Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation

Open cell spray foam insulation provides a continuous insulation and an air-sealing barrier. The foam’s open cell structure gives some flexibility to the hardened foam. Open cell foam is applied as a two-component polyurethane spray foam. It is often used to fill cavities in walls and ceilings during construction. Due to its relatively large cell structure, open cell foam stays somewhat soft and flexible after curing. Open cell foam seals airflow through cracks, joints and seams in especially hard to access areas.
